San Diego Museum Month x Hilton Bayfront Trip!

I love taking trips as you guys know and one of my favorite spots is San Diego!! It's close and just so beautiful! I was so excited to come down to San Diego for a weekend trip because not only is it beautiful and a quick getaway, but February is San Diego's Museum Month! If you love visiting museums too, then it's perfect for you. There are over 40 museums that participate in Museum Month and it’s half-off admission for the participating museums. You can grab a museum month pass for free at any Hilton Hotel in the San Diego Area. And who doesn't love a Hilton Hotel! I mean, how gorgeous is this pool at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront? You know I love a good pool.

And my gorgeous view from my hotel room! This was the first time I have stayed at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront and I am loving it! I love walking everywhere so it's perfect because it's close to everything you would want to go explore! Not to mention, every morning that breakfast buffet is sooo good and convenient.

We got in around 4pm and settled into the hotel and then went to such an amazing spot for dinner called CUCINA urbana! And I was having too much fun in the wine shop... haha.

I mean, how delicious is that?! Not to mention, they had AMAZING cocktails!!

I was so excited to hop on the Old Town Trolley's! Its an amazing way to see the city especially if it’s your first time to San Diego! It's so much fun and our guide was super funny with lots of interesting facts about the city!  I love that you can hop on and off all day depending on what you want to do.

And now for the museums! My first stop was San Diego's Natural History Museum!

We had so much fun learning from one of the paleontologists, Christopher Plouffe about all the fossils found and how they preserve everything! I love the museum because I love the animals and they even have a live animals exhibit. Also, obsessed with their collection of over 100 gems where you can learn about mineralogy and so much more. I had so much fun exploring here.

Look at this little babe! Can't wait to come back.

Oh yes, and after a delicious lunch at Panama 66 our next stop was- The San Diego Museum of Art!

I loved this museum because I could honestly look at art all day. I love the guided tours, but also just love exploring on my own and trying to see my interpretation too! I fell in love with the gorgeous Bouguereau exhibit, which will only be there until March 15th. So hurry and check it out!! It's totally worth it.

I'm obsessed with gardens so obviously had to make a stop at the Japanese Friendship Garden too!!!!!! Oh my gosh, so magical and lush! And loved all the baby bonsai trees!

Balboa Park is so gorgeous and I had no idea about it. I loved exploring around the park after I checked out all the museums. I mean I can't say how beautiful this spot is! Picture perfect too if you ask me!

Last stop of the day and probably my favorite was the USS Midway Museum! I mean, oh my gosh- how did I also not know this place existed? It was so amazing. We also went at the perfect time, sunset!!! So happy we were able to get guided by one of the Midway's Docents! This museum consists of the aircraft carrier Midway and the hip houses a crazy collection of aircrafts!

And after a super fun day at the museums we had some Mexican food and margaritas at Puesto! So good and such a beautiful restaurant too!!

After a well rested night we headed to the Living Coast Discovery Center in the morning!

As I mentioned, I love animals!!! I loved this visit and isn't too far from Downtown San Diego! They are not only a non-profit organization, but help preserve nature and give back. We were able to learn about how important it is to help care for our environment and learn about these animals too. We did so much fun stuff like feed the sea turtles and string rays!! It took a minute for one of the sting rays to come to me though! Definitely somewhere you need to stop by!

Museum Month is the perfect way to make a fun trip down to a Hilton in San Diego and see a lot of the museums!! I can’t wait to go back before the end of the month to see some new ones that I didn’t get to see on this last trip. When are you heading there?!

XOXO,

Emily Men
